Genuine Toyota motor oil utilizes a Toyota-specific additive package that will provide the best results for oil performance and fuel economy. However, other Ow-20 synthetic oils can be used as long as they are ILSAC certified, which is found on the oil container label.

Will the price be lower if I pay cash?

No, whether you decide to pay with cash or finance you vehicle price will not change. We do not believe an individual's payment should influence the selling price.

If I have a Toyota that used synthetic oil with 10,000 mile oil change interval, why do I need to come in for service every 5,000 miles/6-months?

Toyota recommends other services that should be performed on your vehicle such as a tire rotation, fluid level inspection and brake inspection. Please refer to your vehicle's Warranty & Maintenance Guide

Can all Toyota's be Certified?

No. A Toyota Certified Used Vehicle (TCUV) must be a current model year Toyota, up to and including six year old models, and have 85,000 miles or less on the odometer. Each Toyota dealer is required to order a full CARFAX Vehicle History Report with results showing NO ineligible requirements. Then, each vehicle must meet or exceed all 160-point of our Quality Assurance Inspection. These strict standards ensure that only the best of the best vehicles receive the Toyota Certified Seal of Approval.

Is the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Extended Warranty Transferable?

Yes, as an added resale value all components of the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Warranty(Comprehensive Warranty, Limited Power train Warranty and Roadside Assistance) are automatically transferable to subsequent owner at no charge.

What is a Vehicle History Report?

A Vehicle History Report (VHR) contains information that can impact a consumer's purchase decision by disclosing potential risks that could result in costly repairs such as; major structural damage, previously declared a total loss or any title or odometer discrepancies. At Toyota we save you time by requiring our dealers to run a CARFAX Vehicle History Report (As of December 1, 2005, CARFAX is the sole supplier of Vehicle History Reports for the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle program) for each vehicle before it can be certified. BY disqualifying any vehicle that includes ineligible requirements, the integrity of the Toyota Certified process is protected and you receive the peace of mind that comes with owning a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle.

What does the Toyota logo represent?

What is the Dealership's administrative fee (doc fee) and why is it there?

Sierra Toyota Scion administrative fee, $80.00, addresses service coasts sustained by our dealership that are different than those paid to those paid to manufacturer to obtain the vehicles. The administrative fee is related to costs associated with compliance for Federal and California laws that  grant safety, consumer protection, anti-theft measures, vehicle history checks, notifications, certifications and other official filings.

What kind of interest rate will your dealership offer me?

Many new Toyota vehicles offer special financing incentives to qualified buyers, In most cases, those who qualify and wish to finance opt for Toyota special programs. Should the vehicle you decide to purchase not include any such finance program, we use many competing lenders who are eager to earn your business with very aggressive rate, If you wish to get an idea of what type of rate you might qualify for please highlight over finance at the top of this page and choose CREDIT APPLICATION.

Is the FJ Cruiser being discontinued?

Yes the FJ Cruiser is being discontinued. 2014 will be the last model year produced.

If the dealer doesn't have the vehicle I want, can I place a special order?
Toyota dealerships work with our regional offices to determine what vehicle combinations are in demand in their geographical market, and request vehicle allocations accordingly. Because of this, some model configurations and options may not be available in your area, while other options may be available, but only as part of a combination of packages. Your local Toyota dealership can advise you whether a preference can be submitted for your desired vehicle. This preference request does not guarantee you will receive the vehicle with the exact options requested, and may create an extended wait-time.

How should I clean the touch screen panel in my vehicle?
Toyota recommends cleaning touch screen panels with a soft damp cloth. Soak a clean soft cloth in lukewarm water and lightly wipe the surface. Do not use substances such as solvents, kerosene, alcohol, gasoline, alkaline, or acidic solutions. These chemicals can cause staining or discoloration of the screen.

What are the "S" and "B" gear shift positions used for on the 2014 Corolla?

"S" is for sport. If you're driving on twisty country roads and want to keep the RPM up as you wind through corners, the "S" position is where you want to be. In "S", the transmission holds lower gears longer for more power as you come out of the curves.

The "B" position favors lower gears, too, but for a totally different purpose. Just as you might shift a conventional transmission to Low on a long downhill grade; you can shift into the "B" position to increase engine drag and help slow the Corolla while coasting down a hill.

My vehicle has a Smart Key and the engine won't start when I press the START button. Why?

Listed below are some reasons the engine may not start:

·         Your foot is not firmly on the brake pedal when pressing the START button. Ensure you are pressing firmly on the brake pedal when attempting to start the vehicle.

·         The Smart Key battery is weak. Hold the Smart Key next to the START button and depress. Please refer to your Owner's Manual for instructions on replacing the Smart Key battery.

·         The engine battery is weak. We recommend contacting a Toyota dealership for diagnosis.

·         The vehicle may be equipped with a Smart Key deactivation switch which was inadvertently pressed. The switch is located at the bottom of the instrument

I lost my keys. How do I obtain the key code number?

Key codes can be obtained from your local Toyota dealership upon presentation of photo identification and proof of ownership. The dealership will need your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Please be aware that Toyota does not keep key codes for all model year vehicles.

If the vehicle has an immobilizer system (built-in computer chip in the key), then the vehicle's computer will need to be programmed with a dealership scan tool to authorize the new key to be able to start the engine.

Where do I find my VIN?

You can find your VIN in the following places:

Top of the dashboard: You can find your VIN on the metal plate located on your dashboard, near the windshield on the driver's side.

Driver's-side doorjamb: You can find your VIN on the label affixed to the doorjamb on the driver's side.

Insurance card: You can find your VIN on the insurance identification card issued by your insurance company.

Vehicle registration card: You can find your VIN on the vehicle registration card issued by your Department of Motor Vehicles.

My vehicle has a Toyota remote engine starter. When I remotely start the engine, and then open a door to get into the vehicle, the engine turns off. Why?

To help ensure your safety, and anyone near the vehicle, the remote engine starter is designed to shut the engine off when it detects any attempt to enter or move the vehicle after a remote engine start.

How do I start the engine using my Toyota remote engine starter?

1.      Press the LOCK button on the remote.

2.      Press the LOCK button a second time within 1 second.

3.      Press the LOCK button again, this time holding it for 3 seconds. The engine will start.
